NEW PLAYER DEVELOPMENT COACH VACANCY
Position Specifics:
- Position will be for 2 seasons (fall & spring) , approximately 4-6 hours per week
- Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7pm-9pm
- Saturdays, 10am-2pm (optional)
- The new player development coach is responsible for coaching all new and developing players in basic rugby skills and fundamentals
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Train all new players in basic rugby skills and fundamentals during practices
- Run occasional skill development sessions during off weeks/off season/before practice
- Maintain accountability and encouragement amongst the players including imposing consequences as needed
- Take players aside to help develop basic skills and answer questions when needed
- Promote and encourage peer teaching and accountability
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of the game/have 3+ years rugby playing experience
- Level 1 Referee Certification within 6 months of appointment
- Level 100 Coaching Certification within 1 year of appointment
- Strong leadership, communication, and listening skills
- Be motivated, hardworking, and calm under pressure
- Be outgoing, friendly, welcoming, positive and approachable
- Be honest, responsive, and timely
- Be dependable,available/present/on time for practices
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion

- Can coach athletes regardless of performance level
